Since we spend so much time on the internet these days, we've gotten lazy about how we present ourselves at a face-to-face functions. But lets face it there is a whole world of prospects out there waiting to meet you. So this is why it is important for you as a small business owner to have an effective self introduction (or what I call it an elevator pitch) when you meet people, attend a meeting, event, or networking function. Do the people you meet really know what you do? It really comes down to sharing what your business is all about - and the problem it solves - in a small dose. Having said that - I have met too many business owners done it all wrong! So here are few action tips to help you get started. Do the people you meet really know what you do? Is your introduction so filled with lingo and company speak that they have no idea what you are talking about. So you have to help people visualise themselves, a friend, or a colleague when you tell them what you do. Consider this: your introduction should be about emotion, not logic, not lingo, and most importantly, your introduction should not be about you. Make sure your introduction is about your prospect and you'll hit it out of the park every single time. What's your 30 second introduction?
